Supreme_Court_of_IndiaSupreme Court of India has issued a circular on 18 August 2015, directing the restriction of entry of ‘law trainees and law student’ to the Supreme Court for one month. It is presumed that this circular has been issued in view of the ‘escalated threat perception being faced by the Supreme Court’ and hence to curtail the number of persons present in the court premises.

As per media reports, an anonymous email has also been received by Delhi Police which threatened that the Supreme Court would be attacked with bombs, prompting authorities to step up security at the court complex.

As reported yesterday, Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) had issued a circular stating that SCBA had accepted the proposal of the Chief Justice of India to completely stop the entry of interns/law students and visitors for the purpose of consultation, inside the Supreme Court high security zone (premises beyond the security check).

The circular reads:

SUPREME COURT OF INDIA

Date: 18.08.2015
