The President of India has given his assent to the Constitution (One Hundredth Amendment) Act, 2015 which has been passed by the Parliament to facilitate the boundary-dispute settlement between India and Bangladesh. The Act shall give effect to the acquiring of territories by India and transfer of certain territories to Bangladesh in pursuance of the India-Bangladesh agreement signed on 16 May 1974 and its protocol entered into between the Governments of India and Bangladesh.

The Amendment Act shall come into force on a date on which the Central Government may notify the above-mentioned acquisition and transfer.
